Alfred State College
Part of the State University of New York with campuses in Alfred and Wellsville. Alfred State is a residential college of technology and offers more than 70 majors, with both Associate and Bachelor level degree programs. The college also offers four fully online degree majors, two online certificate programs, and a variety of online credit and non-credit courses. Alfred State also participates in the College-Level Examination Program, or CLEP, which is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program, enabling those with a satisfactory score to earn from three to twelve college credits toward a college degree for each CLEP test.
Alfred State has a variety of continuing education offerings as well, including a collaborative high school program allowing high school students to earn college credit, online courses on a variety of subjects, a Learn2Ride Basic Motorcycle course, and business & industry training in welding, commercial driving, asphalt inspection, alcoholism and substance abuse counseling, and construction materials quality control.

BOCES High School Equivalency Diploma Classes
BOCES offers classes to assist in obtaining a High School Equivalency Diploma at several locations in Cattaraugus and Allegany County. More information, and contact information for the coordinator can be found at their website.
Houghton College
Houghton College provides a Christ-centered education in the liberal arts and sciences. The college offers more than 70 academic areas of study, students can receive preparation in fields ranging from pre-med to music, business to physics with an emphasis on a broad-based liberal arts education. Students can earn associates, bachelors, or masters level degrees depending on their field of study. Students interested in an Associate in Arts may also choose to attend the satellite campus in Buffalo. Houghton College also provides opportunities for adults in the workforce to complete their bachelor’s degrees in an accelerated format, including four degree offerings available completely online. Online courses are also available for summer studies, and select courses are available online during the fall and spring semesters.
Jamestown Community College
With campuses in Olean and Jamestown, and extension centers in Dunkirk,NY and Warren, PA, JCC is part of the State University of New York. Programming includes liberal arts transfer degree programs, career programs, community service, developmental education, and business and industry training. JCC offers more than 60 programs of study, certificate programs, and special credit opportunities, with both traditional classroom and online courses offerings.
JCC offers a variety of continuing education courses as well, including pre-Collegiate courses to help strengthen academic skills before starting college coursework, workforce training, small business development, 5-hour pre-licensing and insurance/points reduction courses, technology enrichment courses in topics such as the use of various types of software and web design, Youth programming on a variety of topics from Minecraft Mania to Hogwarts Academy, seashell crafting to robotics, fine arts, and more.
TASC Testing
The five TASC subtests cover subject areas required for a high school diploma in New York State. New brochures help students prepare for both the Math and Writing subject area tests by providing guidelines as well as tips and strategies for the entire exam.
