Tales to Tails

Is your child a reluctant or struggling reader? Consider bringing them to the Friendship Library on Wednesday evenings beginning at 6:30 p.m. for Tales to Tails, where your child can practice their reading skills by reading to our canine friend Jackson. Call the library at (585)973-7724 with any questions, and please be sure to call the library to make sure that the program is “on” for the evening, because there are occasional cancellations.

Did you know that there are Judo classes for kids at the Friendship Library on Tuesday evenings? Pre-K to 3rd grade class runs from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. and class for 4th grade and up meets from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. The cost is $6 per session, plus $1 if you rent a gi. There are some forms that must be signed before the child may participate. If you are interested in signing your child up for the classes, please contact the library at (585)973-7724 for further information.

Tablets Available for Patron Use

We have 2 Kindle Fire Kids tablets available for kids ages 5 & up, and a tablet for teens and adults to use as well. In order to use these, patrons must have a library card in good standing (less than $5 in fines). They must also sign our Electronic Device Borrowing Policy (patrons ages 5-18 must have a parent cosign their form). Patrons will be able to check out the devices to use upstairs on the main floor in the library for 1/2 hour, and may renew 1 time if no one else is waiting to use it. You can fill out a policy form at the checkout desk at the library. Remember, parents must come in and sign the form for their children!
