On Wednesday, November 2nd, we learned about the history and mythos surrounding American Thanksgiving with Perry Ground’s talk, Rethinking Thanksgiving. He invited us to participate in a more historically accurate way of thinking about Thanksgiving. We learned about how venison was served at the meal we consider the first thanksgiving. And that the Pilgrims spent three days feasting alongside Pautuxet Wampanoag peoples, celebrating their good harvest – which included eels!

We learned a lot and we hope you did too!

Did you miss the event? Perry Ground is performing at various locations in the area in the coming weeks. Make sure to find him at https://www.facebook.com/TalkingTurtleStories/
